OLIVIER THEYSKENS

OLIVIER THEYSKENS
Tasoni presents the latest installment of our Tasoni Talks, where we speak to designer OlivierTheyskens about his inspirations, aspirations, and what luxury means to him.

Olivier Theyskens knew from a young age that he wanted to become a couturier, growing up to study fashion design at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de La Cambre in Brussels.
Leaving school, Olivier immediately launched his own eponymous label, quickly joining ParisFashionWeek and gaining international acclaim for his collection. Considered to be one of the young designers that dominated the fashion landscape at that time, he largely defined the 90’s with his dark, brooding designs that also cut to the essence of elegance.

Later, Olivier won a number of prestigious posts, becoming the Artistic Director of Rochas, then Nina Ricci, and finally the global Theory brand. With all this experience, Olivier turned around to inject it back into his own label again in 2016. Impressively, Olivier Theyskens is one of the youngest designers to already have two of his own retrospectives, one at MOMU Fashion Museum in Antwerp and the other at Cité de la Dentelle et de la Mode in Calais, France.
