Known for their of-the-moment designs Paulo Almeida and Marta Marques explore themes of rebellion and freedom with edgy, 90’s-inflected androgyny, splashy colors, and deconstructed denim. After leaving their home country of Portugal and graduating from Central Saint Martins, they launched Marques ' Almeida in 2011 in London. They quickly became established players in the London scene after Opening Ceremony took one look at their debut collection. They’re audience-driven approach and energetic designs have awarded them a NEWGEN sponsorship from the British Fashion Council in 2013, the 2014 Emerging Womenswear Designer at the British Fashion Awards, and the 2015 LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers.
