MARINE SERRE
Watch our Tasoni Talks interview with designer Marine Serre as she shares with us her optimism for the future—and the future of fashion. The future is a constant source of inspiration for the designer, known for her conceptual, environmentally-informed collections that speculate not just what clothing we will wear in the future, but what will we need to wear—to protect ourselves amid climate change. Her pieces are also effortlessly wearable today, taking inspiration from Islamic dress codes and sportswear to render refreshingly new silhouettes. Born in France, she graduated from La Cambre Mode Belgian Fashion Design Academy, being shortlisted for many accolades after her graduate collection, “Radical Call for Love,” winning the coveted 2017 LVMH Prize (the youngest designer ever to do so). Often incorporating upcycled vintage, she has now managed to source 50 percent of her “Green Line” collection from such materials and produces the rest from local French mills.
