Poolside Poem

The low-burning sun winks across the water. The heat hangs humid and heavy. Every movement is languid. Ah, a fleeting breeze sighs “relief!”. The balmy smell of the water on concrete is periodically matched by a top note of sunscreen. The hum and the hiss of cicadas fills the air. Nothing needs doing - Damian Fopp June, 2022 

For the Summer 2022 season, Tasoni has partnered with curator and artist Damian Fopp for a vibrant collection of store windows inspired by pools. According to Damian, “The Tasoni summer windows of 2022 present a distilled essence of what it’s like to lie next to the pool in one of those idle August weeks. Inflatables and graphic pool shapes dominate the visual appearance.”

Fopp’s references for the windows’ whimsical pool floaties comes from the art world. On his inspirations, Fopp shared: “Traditionally, the Tasoni summer windows are inspired by artworks and artists as they are launched during Zurich Art Weekend. Both swimming pools and inflatables have inspired some of the most memorable art. This year the Tasoni summer windows contain a slew of references to Claes Oldenburg, Ed Rusha, Madelon Vriesendorp and of course David Hockney. What are these references you may ask? The hiss of the cicadas makes any answer impossible. Splash.”
